Tanzania’s Ministry of Minerals and Energy is considering tax exemptions for geothermal and other renewable energy equipment to attract investors into development of projects in the country.
Reported last week from Eastern Africa, the Ministry of Minerals and Energy of Tanzania is considering tax exemptions on geothermal and other renewable energy equipment.
The ministry expects the “… elimination of tax on equipment to attract companies to invest in the industry”.
The government aims to help economic development in rural and urban areas while focusing on sustainable and renewable energy and sees tax exemptions as a tool to attract investors to the industry.
As reported previously there are now efforts to develop geothermal energy projects in the country by the company Geothermal Power Tanzania.
