PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy announces it drilled 11 geothermal wells in the first half of 2012 in Java and Sumatra for a total of $66 million.
Reported from Indonesia, PT Pertamina Geothermal Energy has announced it spent $66 million to drill 11 geothermal wells throughout the first half of 2012.
President Director of Pertmanina Geothermal, Slamet Riadhy, said that “all the production wells drilled are located in Java and Sumatra”, and that the company’s target “is to drill 19 wells this year with a total investment cost of Rp 1.2 trillion ($127 million) this year.
Pertamina Geothermal, so the news, allocated $4 billion to increase the capacity of its geothermal plants to 2,000 MW by 2018. Current geothermal power generation capacity of the company is at around 292 MW.
