Australian geothermal developer announces Mary O’Kane, as new addition to its Board of Directors and also reports on the status of its Saipan project in the Northern Marianas.
Reported today, Australian geothermal developer KUTh Energy has added another high profile member to its board of directors.
Professor Mary O’Kane will join its board of directors on Aug. 9, 2012. Mary O’Kane O’Kane joins a well-qualified KUTh team that includes such notables as Jefferson Tester, David Croll Professor of Sustainable Energy Systems in the School of Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering at Cornell University.
For the past three years, O’Kane has chaired the Australian Centre for Renewable Energy, the head Australian government agency responsible for administering the Australian government’s renewable energy support initiatives.
In her role at the agency, O’Kane was responsible for a wide range of renewables including the solar flagship program, geothermal, wave and other associated alternate energy programs.
O’Kane is also chair of the Development Gateway headquartered in Washington D.C. and its sister organization, Development Gateway International, based in Brussels, and chairs the New South Wales government Renewable Energy Taskforce.
Commenting on her appointment to the KUTh board of directors, O’Kane said: “I am very much looking forward to helping build on the solid platform that has been established by the KUTh Board. KUTh brings together two interests of mine: geothermal energy and developing countries.”
The company also reports on the status of the Saipan project in the Northern Marianas awarded to the company earlier this year.
