CanGEA: Canadian GEA 2009 Geothermal Energy Conference
written by: lxrichter

The biggest industry event in Canada, the Canadian Geothermal Energy Association (CanGEA) is holding its Annual Meeting in conjunction with a Geothermal Energy Conference. The conference provides an impressive line up of speakers and industry representatives. With most of the Canadian companies doing successful projects in the U.S. it will be interesting to hear more about actual projects in Canada.
Key presenters are coming from: GRC, University of Calgary, Magma Energy Corp. CanGEA, Sinclair Knight Merz (SKM), Sierra Geothermal Power, Nevada Geothermal, Jacob & Company, GeothermEx, Western GeoPower and various other players.
I am also very pleased that Íslandsbanki in continuation of the work of Glitnir’s Global Geothermal Team will be represented at the event.
The official statement claims the conference to be “one of the first major high-temperature geothermal energy conference in Canada in decades and so it’s a great opportunity to hear about some of the projects, companies and R&D in the high temperature geothermal energy industry in Canada. Meet the leading industry players and companies involved in geothermal projects locally and worldwide. This CanGEA has secured the brand new environmentally friendly, “absolutely beautiful” West Expansion facility at the Vancouver Convention & Exhibition Centre and our opening day workshop “Geothermal 101” is Earth Day, April 22nd . CanGEA will be the first renewable energy organization to be hosted in the brand new facility.”
