EGEC Geothermal Technology Platform Kick-Off Meeting, Munich December 2, 2009

EGEC is holding the first meeting of its Technology Platform for Research and Development in Geothermal in Munich/ Germany on 2 December 2009.

Announced in detail yesterday, the EGEC is holding the first meeting of its Technology Platform for Research and Development in Geothermal in Munich/ Germany on 2 December 2009.

The event precedes the GeoPower Conference in the same city, which takes place December 3-4, 2009.

The Kick-off meeting which will take place at the premises of Exorka in Munich is open to a limited number of registrants and one is urged to register early to secure a place.

The program includes presentations on EGEC and its vision for the future by Burkhard Sanner the EGEC President, R&D on geothermal heating and cooling by Pierre Ungemach, research priorities by Fausto Batini and Horst Kreuter.

Jean Philippe Gibaud will provide the view from the oil and gas sector and his company Schlumberger and Ruggero Bertani of Enel will provide an overview over international R&D initiatives.

In the afternoon, EGEC will provide an overview on financing R&D by Philippe Dumas and Burkhard Sanner and the meeting will be concluded by a discussion on next steps.

  1. Unfortunately the EGEC is not invited to the political part nor does it attend the civilian conference ClimateForum09 in December in Copenhagen. They seem like a natural partner.
