Planned geothermal project on hold at Hawthorne Army Depot, Nevada

written by: lxrichter

Hawthorne Army Depot, Nevada
Geothermal project at Hawthorne Army Depot in Nevada is on hold with cut-backs on staff on site.

In a recent news piece from Nevada, there are talks about layoffs at the Hawthorne Army Depot in Nevada, and “planned solar and geothermal projects being on hold.”

At this depot and storage of ammunition a geothermal project has been in the works for quite some time. There are unfortunately no much more news available at that time.

The Navy Geothermal Program has been planning two geothermal projects of each up to 30 MW.

There are two additional projects in the area by Oski Energy and Sierra Geothermal Power.
