U.S.: DOE’s Geothermal Technologies Program database with 170 projects
written by: lxrichter

Reported from the U.S., The country’s “Department of Energy’s Geothermal Technologies Program (GTP) recently announced the initiation of the GTP Projects Database.
Created to help increase the transparency of GTP’s funding activities, specifically those related to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009, the database allows users to access details for more than 170 Geothermal Technologies Program-funded projects.
Users can interactively search for projects by state, awardee, keyword, project title, technology, partner, Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA), or funding source.
Each project has a profile that includes background information, objectives and milestones, and a listing of participants. Summaries provide details such as participants, funding level, background, and possible impacts on projects dealing with Enhanced Geothermal Systems, geothermal energy production, ground source heat pumps, innovative exploration technologies, and the National Geothermal Data System.
Users of the database can select a state from a list. Then they can select a specific Geothermal Technologies Program project and review a profile. Projects in the database are revised regularly when updates from project teams become available.”
