Yup, a drop in the bucket. The seiorus money is funding carbon capture and storage projects for coal-fired power plants and tar sands upgraders. Harper and Ignatieff are both counting on greening the tar sands to produce “clean” energy. I guess renewables just aren’t a priority for Canada.

I would like to inform you that what has been announced in your page. is thoroughly correct and the Renewable Energy Organization of Iran (SUNA) has been implementing the official affairs (finance and contract steps) to set a pilot power plant. It was supposed to be carried out in 2009, but it was postponed and the heads decided to do more explanatory drilling instead.

Agreed, but the trouble with geothermal is the power plants are industrial looking, they aren’t green and pretty looking. There is no warm and fuzzy when looking at geothermal plants. Wind turbines on the other hand, are tall, slender and turn gracefully in the breeze. They are green and pretty looking. It does not matter to your fellow greenies that wind turbines ar completely uneconomical while geothermal is economical. In the eyes of greenies, economical does not beat pretty.
