Canadian Geothermal Students’ Days – 21 to 22 August 2023, University of Calgary
Registration and abstract submission are currently open for the 4th Canadian Geothermal Students' Days taking place on 21-22 August 2023, University of Calgary.
The 4th Annual Canadian Geothermal Students’ Days (CGSD2023) will be taking place on 21-22 August 2023 at the University of Calgary in Alberta, Canada. With the theme “Inclusive Energy Futures,” this year’s event welcomes participants from diverse backgrounds to discuss the advancement of geothermal energy knowledge and technologies in Canada.
Registration is free for students and travel grants will be available in amounts dependent on the number of attendees and the number of students requesting funds. Click here for registration.
Abstracts for the conference are being accepted until 15 June 2023. Click here to submit an abstract.
The organizers are also offering travel stipends for student applicants. Those interested in applying for the stipend may fill up this form.
This geothermal conference, organized by students for students, began with CGSD2019 at Institut National de la Recherche Scientifique (INRS) in Québec City. CGSD2020 was cancelled due to COVID-19 and CGSD2021 was hosted virtually by the Univeristy of Manitoba in Winnipeg. The seocond in person event after covid will be held at the University of Calagry on the 21st and 22nd of August.
CGSD2023 will include student talks, keynote talks, an industry panel, networking, and more. This event provides an interdisciplinary setting to discuss geothermal research in the fields of geology, geophysics, engineering, environmental sciences, environmental engineering, sociology, and policy.
