Geothermal resource exploration and drilling operations start in Amasya, Türkiye
Vatan Organik Gübre A.S. will conduct geothermal drilling in the Oluz Village in Amasya, Türkiye to explore the region's geothermal potential.
The Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) process has been completed for the geothermal resource exploration and drilling project to be carried out by Vatan Organik Gübre Tarim Sanayi ve Ticaret A.S. in Oluz Village, located in the Central district of Amasya Province of Türkiye. Following the evaluations conducted by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization, and Climate Change, the project was granted a “No EIA Required” decision.
The studies, which will cover an area of 10.776 hectares, have revealed a 38 °C hot water source near Gözlek Village, according to research conducted by the MTA Geophysical Surveys Department. The source is believed to be connected to the Ezinepazar Fault, and the project plans to drill to a depth of 1,000 ±100 meters.

With a total investment cost of 9.35 million TL, the project aims to assess the geothermal potential of the region and contribute to the energy and agriculture sectors. Licensed by the Amasya Provincial Special Administration, the initiative is considered a significant step toward the economic utilization of geothermal resources in the region.
