In the 11th of November 2023, the Jakarta Drilling Society (JDS) held the grand opening of the 5th Batch of JDS Scholarships, as well as the inauguration of the 2023 JDS Management.

The JDS Scholarship is one the main programs of this social non-profit organization that was established in 2019 with the main objective of providing a platform for drilling education in Indonesia. The 5th batch of JDS Scholarship awardees includes 83 people from a variety of background – government, campus/university representatives, and professionals and business experts from the oil and gas and geothermal industries. The awardees will undergo intensive training for the next 8 months.

“Hopefully, the JDS can produce a generation in the drilling sector to have maximum contributions to the energy sector, especially through the drilling division in both oil & gas and geothermal,” said JDS General Chair Yudi Hartono as he welcomed the new batch of trainees.

The inauguration of the Management for the 2023-2024 Period was also held during the same event. The Chairman of the Event Abilati Monikha Wulandari and Secretary General of JDS Redha Bhawika have the same vision; both conveyed that the formation of this complete management is a manifestation of the aspirations of alumni so that JDS can become a forum for self-development, organizational sustainability, increasing its active role in energy security and realization of SDGs.

“I hope that JDS will continue to be a non-profit institution and a partner to the government in educating the public and improving the human resource workforce in the Indonesian energy sector,” remarked Mr. Satya Widya Yudha, member of Indonesian National Energy Council, during the event.
