Introduction

Started in January 2009, ThinkGeoEnergy has been aimed to fill a gap. Up to that point there had been no central place to find news, nor a place to advertise services on a geothermal energy focused news website.

ThinkGeoEnergy allows potential advertisers to reach a very focused readership from around the globe from all sectors of the industry and beyond. Readership includes a large number of government organizatons, but also large banks and financial institutions.

The site offers the following advertisement options:

The following is a short overview over the current visitor base of ThinkGeoEnergy.com (status as of October 18, 2009), but can naturally only give a glimpse of the reach of the website:

  • About 350+ visitors daily, average time on site 3:25 minutes.
  • Visitors from 170 countries (Top 10: U.S., Canada, Australia, Philippines, UK, Germany, Iceland, Japan, Kenya, Indonesia).
  • Visitors from all major industry players across the whole value chain of the geothermal energy power sector, globally.
  • Visitors from a large list of financial players and investors, governmental and international organizations.

The readership of the site really is a who-is-who of the geothermal world and related companies/ industries, truly a unique focus group for any player wanting to advertise services and products.

Further development:

The site is being developed in 3 stages. The first stage is the implementation of establishing the site and readership, the second stage will see additional informational offerings by ThinkGeoEnergy, as well as the introduction of a monthly e-mail newsletter (news summary), accessible through subscription. Stage 3 will then see the extension of business offerings through ThinkGeoEnergy.

Currently the site has reached stage 2. A new design has been put in place and a newsletter function will shortly be added. Stage 3 is also in preparation and will include the installation of a job portal system for the site, both for employers posting jobs, but also people looking for jobs in the industry.

The site also uses a number of additional social media tools.
